Women’s Lingerie: What to Wear Where
If you have ever thought about it, women’s lingerie is like a sports team’s uniforms. We have our home and away lingerie. We have the stuff that we wear on the daily basis, to work, shopping or other errands and then we have the stuff that we wear for night time events and possibly for the benefit of others. Knowing which of your lingerie should be worn and when is important so that you can get your clothing to lay right. Think of your lingerie as the foundation that builds the outfit from the inside out.
Women’s lingerie can be basic or fancy, bright or neutral, substantial or barely there. Keep in mind that when you are dressing for work or day wear that you do not want any of your straps, colors or other features to show through. So, for day wear, especially for working women, the lingerie choices should be supportive, comfortable but fairly neutral. If you are a tee shirt and jeans kind of person, wear a bra that is smooth, without seams on the cup so that there is no show through in your cotton tees.
For dressier events or for evening wear, you can choose to wear silkier, prettier women’s lingerie. Make sure that the choice you make is supportive, especially if you would like for your silky dresses to lay the right way and give you the most flattering appearance. If you need a little bit of tummy or thigh support, women’s lingerie can help you out, with all in ones or body shapers for your particular body needs. Remember though, a good shaper can shape you well a bad shaper will only send rolls of pudge to new and interesting places.
Finally, keep in mind what you are going to be doing when choosing your women’s lingerie. If you are going to be doing something sporty, wear a sports bra and consider whether you will need sports shorts as well to prevent chafing. If you are going to be doing work, wear a neutral set. If you are going out for the evening, then throw the rule book right out the window.
Women’s lingerie is a great starter for your every wardrobe choice, no matter what it is that you want to wear. You build your outfit from the moment you slip into a bra and panties for the day. Just like you layer your scent so that you smell good all day long, you layer your clothing so that you look good all day long as well.
