Saving Money When Buying Women’s Lingerie

Well, your last pair of days of the week panties is shot through and your bra strap snapped when you tried to gingerly pull it up this morning. Looks like you are off to buy some more intimates dearie, but you do not like the look of that bank account. It’s time for a few lessons in careful shopping and realizing that you don’t have to break the bank to have the basics of women’s lingerie. Here are some helpful hints to help you save some money.

Tip One: Know What You Need Before You Go

The problem with women’s lingerie is that it is so darned pretty and alluring. Well, duh, you may think, that is kind of the point. Yes, it is the point but it makes it very hard for the budget conscious person to think straight. So, before you log on to your favorite online, retailer or before you trot down to the local mall to do some serious lingerie shopping, have an idea of what you actually need at this point. If you want to set up a savings account and work towards earning new items, that is fine, but for right now, you need to focus only on what you actually, really need.

For most women, having around ten pairs of panties is enough to get started, and those should be in a selection of types of colors so that you always have the right thing to wear under every outfit. In addition, you might consider buying two, basic bras at this point, one black and one neutral or flesh toned.

Tip Two: Know How to say No and When to Say Yes

Sales in a lingerie store can be so confusing. Is it worth buying two bras for one price if that price is higher than the individual bras would be? What about panties? Should you buy them in the deal or by themselves? This is where you have to slip into grocery shopping mentality: everyone has calculated the unit cost of items at the grocery store. If the price for the lot of lingerie items is cheaper than each individual one would be, then it is a deal.

Tip Three: Lower Price, Never Lower Quality

You hold up two bras, one is ten dollars cheaper than the other. But, the bra that you decide on, the cheaper of the two falls apart in a single week and now you are back at the store looking to buy another replacement. Look for the quality and small details before you think you can save money just by buying the off bran or the one that is marked down dramatically. That is not to say that you can’t get some amazing deals on women’s lingerie, just that you have to be very careful of what you are buying./

Tip Four: Make the Most of What You Have Bought

Finally and here is where the real savings comes in: the longer your item lasts, the lower the actual cost is going to be. Hand wash your women’s lingerie items in gentle detergent and then air dry them to extend their life. Don’t just toss your bras in the drawer. Treat them well and they will last a very long time.
